Introduction:
This Leaving Cert Music Technology Crash Course is designed to equip Higher Level music students with the essential knowledge and skills to confidently approach the 25% Music Technology elective in their exams.
Duration: This is a three-day intensive course. There will be two sessions offered:

- 10th-12th of July
- 7th-9th of August
- Sessions will run from 1pm-2.30 pm daily.
Course Objectives:

- Understand the role and function of Music Technology in contemporary music creation.
- Gain practical experience with music software for score input, editing, and playback.
- Develop the ability to describe, plan, and execute edits into a four-part musical score.
- Become familiar with the Leaving Cert Music Technology exam format and marking scheme.
- Develop strategies for effectively completing the Music Technology core activity within the allocated exam time.
Course Content:

- Introduction to music notation software (Musescore).
- Score input: Entering notes, rests, clefs, time signatures, articulation, dynamics, etc.
- Editing techniques: transposition, tempo adjustment, etc.
- Exam Techniques: Analyzing the question, using clear terminology, time management strategies.
- Practical exercises for applying the learned skills to sample scores.
